    any cali natives?

whutup. so, im trying to get my ass to california this year for hopefully memorial day. its a long enough flight from ny so a 3 day weekend is a perfect time to go. what im trying to do is find an area to rent a beach house. an area thats mostly young with a lot of parties and such. i would say like "the jersey shore" in cali. i really have no idea where to even start looking for this so i figured if anyone lives there or has been there and could chime in. i think 6 is from cali so if your around buddy

Santa Barbara is the place if you go to the UC there. Otherwise its not worth a trip. What you are looking for is San Diego. I lived there for 4 years and want to go back. There is so much to do there. If the weather isn't nice enough for the beach (which is mostly always is) they have an amazing zoo, sea world, wild animal park, and balboa park. Also disney land is only 1h45min away depending on traffic and universal studios and hollywood isn't that much further.

Place to rent a beach house... not going to be cheap no matter where you are at in California. Honestly you can stay in a hotel any where in San Diego you find a decent price for... and you are still no matter what less than 30 minutes from any given beach. I know it sounds like I am selling this place to you but you wanted an honest opinion... I have lived every where in California from the north to the south. And there is no better place to vacation than San Diego for the money in California.

Forgot to mention that the best beaches in my opinion go in this order... there are a few others but these are the ones I loved.

La Jolla - just south of the main beach if you stay on the coast there is a place called childrens pool. It is a local spot and was my favorite place to go.

Ill get to more in af ew.

thanx for the replies guys and my bad on responding so late. i gotta be honest 6, san diego is exactly where i want to go too lol. we've talked about hotels and all but what i really want is a place right near the beach where i can walk to and from my house at all times without cabs and stuff. i know theres a million things to do there and im especially looking foward to the zoo myself but i figured id save that for another trip when i go there for a week or so. a weekend passes by in a breeze and i really just want to meet some cali chicks. thanks for the recommendations and i will be looking into them

Best area for you then would be Mission Beach. Either that or Ocean beach or Pacific beach. But your best bet for a place that is reasonably priced is Mission. PB has some really nice ocean front rentals so does mission.

The boardwalk there connects PB and Mission together. It is a continuous beach there. Mission beach is split into 2 because its so large. South Mission and North Mission beach... obvious lol. PB is the ultimate bar scene area. Lots of places to pub crawl and some places to dance. Mission is more of a tourist area, with sea world in the area and a small boardwalk theme park area.

Place to eat in the area that is a must... it is in Ocean Beach just south of Mission and PB. Hodads.
